00E7187 is the power supply assembly with CCIN 2B46 in IBM's system parts tables for the 8202-E4C (Power 720) and 8205-E6C (Power 740). IBM shows two per system in that table. The 8231-E1C and 8231-E2C tables list the same part, one or two per system.
For the later D models IBM lists a different supply: 00E7237, CCIN 2BED, for the 8202-E4D, 8205-E6D, 8231-E1D, 8231-E2D and 8268-E1D. The two are listed separately by model, so check the machine type before ordering.
IBM's Power 720 and 740 Redpaper describes the system power supply as the 1725 watt ac supply, feature #5603. One is required on the Power 720 with a second optional; the Power 740 requires two, and for full redundancy they must be connected to separate PDUs.
The Redpaper adds that the server keeps running on one working supply, and that a failed supply can be hot swapped but should stay in the system until its replacement is available.
Other 8202-E4C parts we list include the 00E1765 system backplane and the 74Y5220 120 mm fan assembly; more are on our IBM Power7 parts hub. Read the machine type and model from the system label to confirm a C model before ordering this supply.
