IBM 74Y9340 Cache Battery Pack for Cache Battery Card (CCIN 2BCF) and RAID Controller (CCIN 2B4C)

74Y9340 is an IBM cache battery pack. IBM's POWER7 parts guide lists it in the 8202-E4C, 8202-E4D, 8205-E6C or 8205-E6D system parts tables as the cache battery pack for the cache battery card (CCIN 2BCF) and for the RAID and cache storage controller (CCIN 2B4C), one per assembly.

The same guide also lists 74Y9340 in the 8231-E1C, 8231-E1D, 8231-E2C, 8231-E2D or 8268-E1D system parts as the cache battery pack for the cache battery card and RAID and cache controller.

The 8202-E4C and 8205-E6C are the Power 720 and Power 740. IBM's Redpaper for those servers describes the #EJ01 storage backplane, which supports up to eight SFF SAS drives with Dual 175 MB Write Cache RAID, RAID 5 and RAID 6 and one external SAS port. The Redpaper states that #EJ01 is required by IBM i to use the internal storage natively.

Fit check: compare the CCIN of the card the battery serves, 2BCF or 2B4C, before ordering. The Power 770 and 780 use a different cache battery pack, the 00E5725. The 74Y8598 is a Power 740 processor module. More parts are on the IBM POWER7 parts hub.
