12R8018 is a 4 GB DDR2 memory DIMM running at 533 MHz, CCIN 30DC. IBM's POWER5 system parts table lists it for the 9119-590 and 9119-595, with 12R6774 as the non-RoHS alternate.
Other DDR2 memory IBM lists for the 590 and 595 includes the 0-4 GB CUoD DIMM 41V1955 and the CUoD memory parts 41V2093 (0-4 GB), 41V2095 (0-8 GB) and 41V2097 (0-16 GB).
IBM's memory plugging guide for the 590 and 595 says all memory in a node must be one size and type, and DDR1 and DDR2 cannot be mixed in a node because they run at different voltages.
Memory cards in these systems are plugged in pairs, and a valid node needs at least two pairs. The plugging sequence in a node begins with Px-C2, Px-C4, Px-C10 and Px-C12.
On our IBM POWER5 parts hub the DDR2 CUoD DIMM 41V1955 and the DDR1 CUoD card 12R9413 are listed for the same systems. Choose 12R8018 only for a node that is already all DDR2.
