X6554-R6 is NetApp's 15 m optical network cable, shown with the cable identifier 112-00189 in NetApp's installation guides. In NetApp's optical lengths it sits between the 5 m X6536-R6 and the 30 m X6537-R6, and the shortest listed is the 2 m X6553-R6. If the measured run is under 5 m, X6536-R6 is the listed length, while X6537-R6 covers 30 m on the AFF A320; other NetApp cabling is on our NetApp storage parts hub.

The FAS2700 installation guide lists X6553-R6, X6536-R6 and X6554-R6 together as optical network cables for the FC host network. The AFF A320 guide includes the 15 m cable among its short-reach (SR) optical part numbers for FC configuration, and the FAS2650 and AFF C190 setup instructions name it in their order-dependent optical cable lists. The FAS9000 and AFF A700 guides list only the 2 m and 5 m optical lengths, so X6554-R6 does not appear in those two tables.

NetApp's cable tables mark the optical cables as order dependent and send anything not listed to the Hardware Universe. Before ordering, measure the run from the controller's FC port to the switch and read the 112-00189 label on the cable being replaced.
