R8Q70A is the 48-port PoE model in the HPE Aruba Networking CX 6200M series, the modular-power version of the CX 6200. HPE's QuickSpecs lists 48 10/100/1000BASE-T ports with Class 4 PoE (up to 30 W per port, IEEE 802.3af/at) and four 1G/10G SFP+ ports, two of which support MACsec 256. Management ports are RJ-45 and USB-C consoles, an out-of-band management port and a USB-A host port.
The switch has two hot-swappable power supply slots. At least one power supply is required and is ordered separately; HPE lists the JL086A and JL087A units, with up to 1440 W of PoE. It ships with one fan tray of two fans, and a second tray can be added.
HPE gives 176 Gbps switching capacity, up to 202 Mpps, average latency of 3.6 µs at 1 Gbps and 2.9 µs at 10 Gbps, a quad-core ARM Cortex-A72 at 1.8 GHz, 8 GB DDR4, 16 GB eMMC and a 6 MB packet buffer. The 1U chassis is 4.4 x 44.2 x 38.5 cm and weighs 6.15 kg configured.
VSF stacking supports up to eight members, mixing 24- and 48-port 6200F and 6200M switches (not the 12-port 6200F), with 40 Gbps stacking bandwidth and links of up to 10 km with long-range optics. Because the power supplies are separate, a used unit may arrive without one, so check what is installed. The 24-port version is R8Q68A.
