IBM 01LU579 is the FRU for a 300 GB, 15,000 rpm SAS hard drive in IBM's SFF-3 carrier for Power9 system units, listed for AIX and Linux. IBM's Power9 drive parts table shows CCIN 5B41, and the Power System S922 sales manual orders it as feature ESNK, 300 GB 15K SFF-3 4k block cached disk drive. The drive has a 256 MB DRAM cache and can be reformatted to 4224-byte sectors, which reduces capacity to 283 GB. IBM's IBM i version is 01LU575, feature ESNJ, which ships at 283 GB in 4224-byte format with the same CCIN. Feature ESNM is the SFF-2 version for EXP24S/EXP24SX drawers (CCIN 5B43). The SFF-3 carrier fits the system unit bays and cannot be used in an EXP24S or EXP24SX Gen2-bay drawer. To confirm fit, check that the server is a Power9 model whose system-unit bays take SFF-3 drives, such as the 9009-22A or 9009-22G, read the CCIN from the drive label or system inventory, and choose the AIX/Linux or IBM i part by operating system.
