Cisco C9300-NM-2Q Catalyst 9300 Series 2 x 40G Network Module

C9300-NM-2Q adds two 40 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks to a Catalyst 9300 switch. Cisco's data sheet lists it as the "Catalyst 9300 Series 2x 40G Network Module", one of five C9300-NM modules alongside the 4x1G, 4x Multigigabit, 8x10G and 2x25G versions.

The compatibility rule is set by model line. Cisco states that Catalyst 3850 and Catalyst 9300 network modules are supported on the Catalyst 9300 models, while Catalyst 9300X network modules are supported only on the 9300X models. So this module fits the standard C9300 switches; a C9300X needs a C9300X-NM part instead.

Cisco rates the C9300-NM-2Q at 10,778,230 hours MTBF, the highest of the C9300 network modules in its reliability table.

Fit check: the switch model on the label must start with C9300- and not C9300X-. For 10G uplinks on the same switch, the C9300-NM-8X gives eight SFP+ ports; for 25G, the C9300-NM-2Y. Cisco's module guide and the switches are linked from the Cisco Catalyst 2960, 3850 and 9300 hub.
