IBM 02PX589 is the FRU for a 1.8 TB, 10,000 rpm SAS hard drive in the 2.5-inch form factor for machine type 2072. IBM lists it in the system replaceable-units table for the Storwize V5000E (2072-224, 2072-324 and the 2072-24F expansion) and the FlashSystem 5000 enclosures that share those parts. IBM's sales manual lists feature AL6A as a 1.8 TB 10K 2.5-inch drive for machine type 2072. IBM does not print the FRU next to the feature, so the link is by the sales-manual description. Lifecycle differs by model: IBM lists V5000E drive features as no longer available from January 15, 2022 and FlashSystem 5010/5030 features from April 9, 2022, while AL6A on the 2072-24G expansion remained available until June 30, 2025. Its larger sibling is 02PX539 (2.4 TB 10K). The Storwize V7000 Gen2 and FlashSystem 5100 use a different 1.8 TB 10K FRU, 00RX908. To confirm fit, read the 2072 enclosure label and match the FRU on the carrier to IBM's parts table for that model.
