P53553-B21 is HPE's 20TB SAS 12G Business Critical (midline) 7,200 rpm hard drive in the 3.5-inch LFF size, mounted in a Low Profile (LP) carrier. It is a helium-filled, 512e, ISE, Multi Vendor drive. PartSurfer lists the service spare as P54677-001 (20TB 7.2K LFF SAS LP ISE MV).
HPE's HDD QuickSpecs lists it in the Business Critical SAS LFF line, with LP versions from 2TB up to 26TB. It says helium, about one-seventh as dense as air, lets drives hold more platters and run cooler on less power. The LP Business Critical SAS spec table gives 12Gb/s, 26.1 x 105.5 x 156.58 mm and 10 to 35 °C. HPE positions midline drives for medium workloads such as backup, archive and reference storage.
The drive appears in the QuickSpecs for the DL380 Gen10 Plus, DL325 Gen10 Plus, ML350 Gen10 and DL380 Gen12. PartSurfer shows the spare in DL320 Gen11 and DL380 builds, NonStop BackBox VTC servers and its own drive kits. The LP carrier is used in Gen10 Plus and later LFF bays. Older Smart Carrier LFF bays need an SC drive.
