AL81 is an IBM feature code, the order code for a 3.84 TB 12 Gb SAS 2.5-inch flash drive. It is also written with the machine type in front, as 2072-AL81. Machine type 2072 covers the FlashSystem 5010, 5030, 5015 and 5035 and the Storwize V5000E; IBM's parts table for those enclosures lists the 3.84 TB flash FRU as 02PX542. IBM does not print the FRU next to the feature, so the link is by the sales-manual description. Sibling features are AL80 (1.92 TB), AL82 (7.68 TB) and AL83 (15.36 TB). IBM also uses the AL81 code on newer machine types: on the FlashSystem 5200 expansion 4662-24G, where the 3.84 TB flash FRU in IBM's parts table is 01EJ599, and on the FlashSystem 5045 machine type 4680 it is also a 3.84 TB flash feature. Lifecycle depends on the machine type: V5000E features became no longer available on January 15, 2022, FlashSystem 5010/5030 on April 9, 2022, FlashSystem 5015/5035 on December 31, 2025, and the 4662 and 4680 features on December 31, 2027. To confirm fit, read the enclosure's machine type-model and match the FRU on the carrier to IBM's parts table for that model.
