IBM 01YM583 9.6TB FlashCore Module 1.0

IBM 01YM583 is the FRU for a FlashCore Module 1.0 (FCM) with 9.6 TB usable and 21.99 TB effective capacity, as IBM labels it in its parts tables. A FlashCore Module is IBM's own NVMe flash drive with built-in compression. The FRU appears in the control-enclosure parts tables for the Storwize V7000 Gen3, the FlashSystem 5100 and the FlashSystem 9100. IBM's sales manuals list a 9.6 TB FlashCore Module as feature ADS2 on 2076 (V7000 Gen3), AES2 on 2078/2077 (FlashSystem 5100 control enclosures) and AHS2 on 9846/9848 (FlashSystem 9100). IBM does not print the FRU next to these features, so the link is by the sales-manual description. The second-generation 19.2 TB module, 02YC418 (FCM 2.0), sits in the same tables, as do industry-standard NVMe drives 01YM586 (1.92 TB) and 01YM587 (3.84 TB). IBM lists the V7000 Gen3 as no longer available from January 15, 2022. To confirm fit, identify the control enclosure's machine type-model, check the FRU on the module label against that model's parts table, and confirm the system code level supports FCM 1.0.
