845966-B21 is the HPE 100Gb QSFP28 MPO SR4 100m Transceiver, a 100 Gigabit Ethernet optic for QSFP28 ports. PartSurfer lists the service spare as 849443-001, describing a QSFP28 module with an MPO port and four optical lanes in each direction, each running at 25 Gb.
SR4 optics run over parallel multimode fiber. The MPO connector carries all eight fibers (four transmit, four receive) in one cable, and the rated reach is 100 m. HPE lists 845966-B21 among the QSFP28 options for the HPE Aruba Networking CX 8325 switch series, next to the HPE 100GbE QSFP28 SR4 100m transceiver Q2F19A and 100Gb direct attach copper and active optical cables. PartSurfer shows the spare in the transceiver kit and its remanufactured versions.
For short in-rack runs, HPE lists 100Gb QSFP28 direct attach copper cables, 845406-B21 (3 m) and 845408-B21 (5 m), which need no transceiver.
Both ends of a link must use SR4 optics on matching MPO multimode cabling. Confirm that the adapter or switch accepts this HPE-coded optic before ordering.
