817745-B21 is the HPE Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 562FLR-T, a FlexibleLOM network adapter with two 10GBASE-T RJ-45 ports. PartSurfer lists the service spare as 840138-001 and notes that the dual 10Gb ports give up to 40 Gb/s of bidirectional bandwidth. HPE's DL380 Gen10 and DL560 Gen10 QuickSpecs list the same number as the Ethernet 10Gb 2-port FLR-T X550-AT2 Adapter, which identifies the Intel X550-AT2 controller.
FlexibleLOM is HPE's mezzanine-style slot for the server's main network adapter. It keeps the standard PCIe slots free, and the adapter can be changed after purchase. HPE notes that only one FlexibleLOM fits per server. Networking Choice (NC) server models ship without embedded networking and need either a FlexibleLOM or a stand-up adapter.
PartSurfer shows the spare in DL360 Gen10 and DL380 Gen10 builds, DL560 Gen10 configurations and StoreEasy 1860 systems. HPE's DX560 Gen10 QuickSpecs also lists it as the standalone version of a DX FIO adapter. The stand-up PCIe card version of the 562 series is the 562T.
10GBASE-T runs over copper twisted-pair cabling; check that the switch ports are 10GBASE-T, not SFP+. Before buying, confirm the server has a FlexibleLOM slot; Gen10 Plus and later ProLiant servers use OCP 3.0 adapters instead.
