An indoor Wi-Fi 6E access point from the Cisco Meraki MR line, cloud-managed from the Meraki dashboard. It has 4x4:4 radios on the 6 GHz, 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands, for a combined 7.78 Gbps: up to 4,804 Mbps at 6 GHz, 2,402 Mbps at 5 GHz and 574 Mbps at 2.4 GHz. A flex radio can switch between 5 GHz and 6 GHz, so the AP can run as dual-5 GHz or true tri-band. A dedicated fourth radio handles security scanning and RF optimisation, and a Bluetooth radio is built in.
Wired connections are two 5 Gigabit Multigigabit ports and a USB 2.0 port with a 9.5 W budget. The second Ethernet port supports high availability, link aggregation or power sharing; dual-uplink high availability needs MR30.1 firmware or later.
Power: 802.3bt draws 30 to 40 W. On 802.3at PoE+ it needs at least 30 W, with USB disabled. It can also run from a DC adapter, the MA-PWR-50WAC. Meraki lists the MA-INJ-6 802.3bt injector; neither the injector nor the adapter is included.
Internal omni antennas give 4.5 dBi at 2.4 GHz and 5.5 dBi at 5 and 6 GHz. The unit is 260 x 260 x 56 mm and 1.7 kg, mounts on a desk, ceiling or wall with the included AIR-AP-BRACKET-2, and is rated 0 to 40°C. Meraki lists an MTBF of 998,440 hours.
A Meraki access point licence is required, and a used unit must be released from the previous owner's dashboard organisation. Check that the switch ports can deliver 802.3bt, or plan for injectors.
