Cisco CP-8861-K9 IP Phone 8861

A business desk phone from the Cisco IP Phone 8800 Series, in charcoal. The white version is the CP-8861-W-K9.

It has a 5-inch, 800 x 480, 24-bit colour backlit display and five programmable line keys. Up to three optional Key Expansion Modules (CP-8800-A-KEM) add 108 keys, taking the phone to 113 line buttons.

Connectivity is the strongest point of this model. It has a built-in Gigabit Ethernet switch for the network and a PC, and also an 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi radio, so it can run without a cable to the desk. Bluetooth 3.0 supports wireless headsets and Cisco Intelligent Proximity, which moves mobile calls to the desk phone and syncs contacts and call history. Two USB ports support headsets and charge mobile devices: the side port gives 2.5 W, and the rear port is upgradable to 10.5 W. Audio jacks include an RJ-9 analog headset port, an auxiliary port and a 3.5 mm line in/out jack.

Power comes from IEEE PoE class 4 on 802.3af or 802.3at switches, or from the optional Power Cube 4 (CP-PWR-CUBE-4) for non-PoE ports.

Call control: Cisco Unified Communications Manager 12.5 or later, Unified CME 10.0 or later, and Business Edition 6000. Each phone needs an Enhanced User Connect License (UCL) to register to Unified CM.

The phone is 9.02 x 10.13 x 1.57 in without the stand and 2.62 lb (1.19 kg), and is rated 0 to 40°C. The foot stand has two angles and comes off for wall mounting with the CP-8800-WMK kit.

Before deploying used phones, check the call-control release and that a UCL is available for each handset.
