Intel Xeon Gold 6258R Processor (Spec Code SRGZF)

SRGZF is the Intel spec code (S-spec) for the Xeon Gold 6258R, a 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable server processor (code name Cascade Lake) launched in Q1 2020. Intel lists a single spec code for this model, with ordering code CD8069504449301, B1 stepping and tray packaging, so the code identifies the exact production version.

It has 28 cores and 56 threads, a 2.70 GHz base clock with up to 4.00 GHz turbo, and 38.5 MB of cache, at a 205 W TDP. It fits the FCLGA3647 socket and scales to two sockets over 2 UPI links. Each processor drives six DDR4-2933 memory channels, supports up to 1 TB of memory and Intel Optane Persistent Memory, and provides 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes. It is built on a 14 nm process with a maximum case temperature (TCASE) of 74°C.

The 205 W rating is the main fit check: confirm that the server platform, heatsink and fan configuration are rated for 205 W 2nd Gen Xeon Scalable processors, and that the system BIOS supports this model.

In a two-socket server, match a replacement to the processor already installed; the spec code is laser-marked on the heat spreader, so read it there rather than relying on the model name alone.
