Cisco's 100G SR1.2 BiDi optic carries 100 Gigabit Ethernet over a single pair of multimode fibers with LC connectors, so duplex cabling installed for 10G SR or 40G BiDi can be reused. Inside, it converts four 25G electrical lanes into two optical lanes running 50G PAM4 at 25 Gbaud, in the 832-918 nm range (855 and 908 nm nominal), and uses KP4 forward error correction at 100G.
Reach is 70 m on OM3, 100 m on OM4 and 150 m on OM5. Cisco lists 3.9 W maximum power, a +10 to 60°C operating range, Class 1M laser, and a gray pull tab.
It links to another QSFP-100G-SR1.2, or to a QDD-400G-SR4.2 in 4 x 100G breakout, which lets a 400G spine port feed four 100G leaf or server ports over duplex fiber. It does not interoperate with the dual-rate QSFP-40/100-SRBD, and it runs at 100G only, so it cannot link to a 40G BiDi port.
Cisco documents host support in its Transceiver Module Group compatibility matrix, so check the switch model and software release there. No end-of-sale notice for it appears on Cisco's transceiver EoL listing.
