P37017-B21 is HPE's 3.84TB SAS 12G Mixed Use SSD in the 2.5-inch small form factor with a hot-plug Smart Carrier (SC). It is a Value SAS, Multi Vendor drive. PartSurfer lists the service spare as P37074-001 (SSD 3.84TB SFF SAS MU SC MV).
HPE's SSD QuickSpecs describes Value SAS drives as single-port SAS SSDs that give roughly twice the IOPS of SATA SSDs and typically cost less than traditional SAS SSDs. Mixed Use drives carry more write endurance than Read Intensive drives, which suits databases, virtualisation and other workloads with a steady share of writes.
HPE lists the drive in the QuickSpecs for the ProLiant DL560 Gen10 and the AMD-based DL325 and DL385 Gen10 Plus. PartSurfer shows the spare in the drive kit, a remanufactured kit and an OEM DL360 build. The Smart Carrier suits SC bays in Gen10 and AMD Gen10 Plus servers; Intel-based Gen10 Plus and Gen11 servers use Basic Carrier drives.
Its smaller sibling in the same Value SAS Mixed Use line is the 960GB P37005-B21. Value SAS drives are single-port; HPE's full SAS Mixed Use drives are dual-port. As a Multi Vendor SKU, drives from different makers can ship under this number to one HPE specification.
