Cisco C9K-PWR-650WAC-R 650 W AC Power Supply for Catalyst 9500

A 650 W AC power supply module for the Catalyst 9500 Series switches that support the 650 W PSU. It delivers 12 VDC main and 12 VDC standby output in Cisco's RSP1 form factor, and is 80 Plus Platinum certified.

Input is nominal 100 or 240 VAC, covering 90 to 132 VAC and 180 to 264 VAC at 47 to 63 Hz. Maximum input current is 7.6 A on low line and 3.65 A on high line, with 760 VA maximum at 100 VAC.

Cisco ships two builds under this one PID: the original unit, and an alternate supply that Cisco has fully tested and qualified with the same Catalyst 9500 switches. They differ in detail. The original has a Cisco medium-gray handle and latch, 20 ms or more of hold-up at 90% load, and 4 kV common-mode surge rating; the alternate has a black handle with a burgundy latch, 12 ms hold-up at full 650 W load, 2.5 kV common-mode surge rating and overpower protection at 140% instead of 130%. Either may arrive when the PID is ordered, so a mismatched color in a pair is expected rather than a sign of a wrong part.

Cisco's installation note says to switch off power at the source before removing a module, to check that the power LED is green after fitting, and not to leave the bay open for more than 90 seconds while the switch is running.

To confirm fit, check that the 9500 model's data sheet lists the 650 W AC supply; the label on the module carries the PID.
