Cisco C9120AXI-B Catalyst 9120AX Wi-Fi 6 Access Point

This is the -B regulatory-domain unit of the internal-antenna Catalyst 9120AX, which Cisco positions for general indoor environments. It is an 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) access point with 4x4 radios on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, a flexible radio that can run on either band, and a 2.5G multigigabit uplink. Cisco notes that customers must confirm a regulatory domain is approved for the country of use.

Integrated antennas are omnidirectional, with 4 dBi peak gain at 2.4 GHz and 5 dBi at 5 GHz. On 802.3at PoE+ the AP runs both radios at 4x4 with a 2.5G link and USB, at up to 25.5 W; on 802.3af it drops to reduced radio chains and a 1G link at 13.4 W. It measures 8.5 x 8.5 x 1.7 in, weighs 2.87 lb, and operates from 0 to 50°C. Cisco also offers an embedded wireless controller version, the C9120AXI-EWC.

The C9120AXE adds external antenna connectors and a wider -20 to 50°C range, and the Wi-Fi 6E CW9166I adds a 6 GHz radio.

Lifecycle: Cisco's notice for Wi-Fi 6 indoor access points moved the end-of-sale date for C9120AXI models up to July 31, 2026, due to material shortages, with the last date of support on December 31, 2031. The named migration product is the Cisco Wireless 9176I. For a like-for-like replacement, match the regulatory suffix of the APs already installed and confirm the switch ports supply PoE+ for full performance.
