WS-C3850-48P-L pairs 48 PoE+ ports with the LAN Base feature set, the lowest software level in the 3850 line. Cisco lists it as stackable, 1 RU, with 48 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports and a PWR-C1-715WAC supply, and notes that StackPower cables are bought separately on the LAN Base models.
With the 715W supply the PoE budget is 435W. The higher-budget 48F models use the 1100W supply for 800W, so a buyer powering many access points should compare the two before choosing.
Uplink options match the other 48-port 1G models: Cisco's matrix lists the C3850-NM-4-1G, C3850-NM-2-10G and C3850-NM-4-10G. The 8x10G and 2x40G modules are reserved for the multigigabit and 24XS models.
Cisco's end-of-life notice gives October 30, 2020 for end of sale and October 31, 2025 for last date of support, and maps this model to the C9300-48P-E.
Fit check: confirm the label reads WS-C3850-48P-L; an IP Base unit carries the -S suffix instead. For more PoE on the same port count, the WS-C3850-48F-L ships with the 1100W supply. Other models and modules are on the Cisco Catalyst 2960, 3850 and 9300 hub.
