The HP 9000 rp4440 is a four-socket 4U (6.9 in) PA-RISC server for up to four dual-core PA-8900 modules, eight cores, at 800 MHz or 1 GHz. Its bases are A9950A and A9951A. Modules can be added one at a time in the order 0, 1, 2, 3, and 800 MHz and 1 GHz modules cannot be combined in one rp4440.
The rp4440 uses the A9738B (16-slot) or A9739B (32-slot) memory carrier and the A7128A to AB560A quads, up to 128 GB with eight 16 GB quads in the A9739B. Quads must be equal DIMMs, and the largest go in the lowest-numbered slots.
Slots 1 and 2 always hold core I/O, a two-port 10/100/1000 LAN card in slot 1 and a dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI card in slot 2, so six PCI-X slots are free: two dedicated 133 MHz slots at 1.0 GB/s and four that share 0.5 GB/s per pair at 66 MHz. All six are hot-plug and 3.3 V keyed. Internal disks are AD186A, AD187A, AD206A or AD263A Ultra320 low-profile drives, with A7163B DVD-ROM or AB349B DVD+RW.
HP-UX 11i v1, v2 and v3 are supported. The PartSurfer BOM for A9950A ties the Smart Array 6402/6404 base board, the 4Gb dual-port Fibre Channel HBA and the 36 and 73 GB Ultra320 drive spares below to the rp4440.
