The HP Integrity rx2620 is a 2U (3.4 in) two-socket server that took both single-core and dual-core Itanium 2. Bases AD152A (dual-core 1.4 GHz/12 MB) and AD153A (dual-core 1.6 GHz/18 MB) are 2P/4-core capable, and AB332A (single-core 1.3 GHz/3 MB) is 2P/2-core capable. Add-on processors are AD122A and AD123A (dual-core) and AB334A, AB335A and AB336A (single-core), and speeds cannot be mixed.
Dual-core processors need rx2620 system firmware 3.17 or later, the September 2006 HP-UX 11i v2 update and OpenVMS V8.3; Windows Server 2003 builds need the Management Processor card. Memory is twelve slots of PC2100 chip-spare quads (AB395A 1 GB, AB396A 2 GB, AB397A 4 GB, AB228A 8 GB, AB475A 16 GB), up to 32 GB with eight 4 GB DIMMs, loaded in the order marked on the board.
Four PCI-X 64-bit 133 MHz slots carry the I/O, and three hot-plug Ultra320 low-profile disks (AB420A, AB421A, AD208A, AD261A) sit at the front with a DVD. Two hot-swap power supplies give N+1. The AD244A pedestal kit must be installed by HP service, and factory-racked orders need one AB469A shelf kit per 10 servers.
