400-ASEO is the Dell part number for a 480GB 2.5 inch SAS mixed use SSD from the Toshiba PX05SV series, the mixed use branch of the fourth generation PX05S enterprise SAS SSDs. At 480 GB the KIOXIA series carries the model numbers PX05SVB048, PX05SVB048Y for Sanitize Instant Erase, PX05SVQ048 for self-encrypting and PX05SVQ048B for FIPS self-encrypting.
The memory is MLC behind a SAS-3.0 interface that negotiates 12.0, 6.0, 3.0 or 1.5 Gbit/s. Sustained 64KiB sequential read is 1,900 MiB/s and sustained 64KiB sequential write is 850 MiB/s at the 480 GB size, with sustained 4KiB random read at 270,000 IOPS. Endurance is 3 drive writes per day under a 100 percent random write workload, and mean time to failure is 2,000,000 hours.
KIOXIA aims the series at media streaming, data warehousing and web servers. Power-loss protection, end-to-end data protection with T10 DIF and pin-3 power disable are built in, and typical power draw is 3.2 W from 5 V and 12 V supplies. The case is 15.0 mm tall, 69.85 mm wide and up to 100.45 mm long, weighs at most 150 g and operates from 0 to 55 C.
The write intensive drive in the same Toshiba series is the 800GB CN3JH.
