The HPE Integrity rx2800 i6 keeps the AT101A 2U rack-optimized chassis of the i4 and moves it to Itanium 9700 processors; it can stand as a tower with the pedestal kit. The i6 kits are AT104B (9720, 1.73 GHz, 4-core, 20 MB, 130 W), AT138B (9750, 2.53 GHz, 4-core, 32 MB, 170 W), AT105B (9740, 2.13 GHz, 8-core, 24 MB, 170 W) and AT106B (9760, 2.66 GHz, 8-core, 32 MB, 170 W). Watch the B suffix: the A-suffix kits with the same numbers are 9500-series parts for the i4. Both sockets of an i6 must run one frequency.
The i6 runs HP-UX 11i v3 from the 1905 (2019 update) release and is also supported with VSI OpenVMS V8.4-2L1 in its Base and High Availability operating environments. Memory uses the same AT103A six-slot expansion boards, up to 24 PC3L-12800 registered low-voltage DIMMs and 384 GB with 16 GB DIMMs. The kit HPE lists for the i6 is AT110A, 32 GB as two 16 GB DIMMs, installed as matched pairs.
Eight SFF bays hang off the P410i controller, and RAID 5 or 5+0 on it requires the AM252A FBWC kit. The i6 keeps the 800 W low-line limit of one processor with up to 12 DIMMs, or two with up to 8, and AT133A adds the second 1200 W hot-plug supply for N+N. Racking uses AM227A, and factory-racked orders need one AB469A shelf kit for every 10 servers and for every gap between them.
This page lists chassis spares where the AT101A PartSurfer BOM and the i6 QuickSpecs agree, plus the option pages HPE lists for the i6: AD337A, AM242A and AB469A. The AT101A BOM does not separate i4 and i6 builds, so check a spare against the server serial number in PartSurfer before ordering.
