HPE Integrity Superdome 2 is a blade-based HP-UX 11i v3 system. CB900s server blades sit in an 18U compute enclosure with 15 fans, 12 power supplies and four Crossbar Fabric Modules (XFMs), and PCIe cards go in separate 4U IOX expansion enclosures (AH338A) with 12 slots each. HPE sold three sizes: the SD2-8s (AH352A), the SD2-16s (AH337A) and the SD2-32s (AH353A), which joins two compute enclosures and eight XFMs.
The CB900s i6 blade (AT121B) carries two Itanium 9760 or 9740 processors, and the earlier CB900s i4 carries the 9560 or 9540; all four are 8-core parts with 32 MB or 24 MB of L3 and 64 MB of L4 cache per socket on the sx3000 chipset. The SD2-8s and SD2-16s each reach 16 sockets and 4 TB, but the SD2-8s is limited to four blades per nPartition and four IOX enclosures, and it needs the AH389A Power Boost option for more than four blades. The SD2-32s reaches 32 sockets and 8 TB with up to eight IOX enclosures.
Each blade has 32 DIMM slots for 8 GB single-rank or 16 GB dual-rank PC3L-12800R registered DDR3, and HPE supports only DIMMs it has qualified for Superdome 2. One blade must use a single DIMM size and density, though different blades may differ. A blade must sit in slot 1 of enclosure 1, and if only one blade is ordered a CAMnet Completer Module fills slot 2. Power supplies cannot be mixed within a compute enclosure or within an IOX.
The parts below are the AD337A two-port 1000Base-T card that HPE lists for Superdome 2 and three spares from the PartSurfer BOM for AH337A: the AD221 and AD222 Fibre Channel plus Gigabit Ethernet combo boards and a 750 W Common Slot power supply. HPE deleted the AD221A and AD222A options from the QuickSpecs as obsolete in version 18 (June 2017), so they belong to earlier SD2 builds.
