The HP 9000 rp4410 is a 4U (6.87 in) PA-RISC server for up to two dual-core PA-8900 modules, four cores. Base A9955A runs at 800 MHz and A9956A at 1 GHz, each with one core active; the second core needs AB524A or AB525A, and it must be active before a second module goes in. The two speeds cannot share an rp4410, and cores install in the order 0, 1, 2, 3.
Each rp4410 base had to be ordered with one memory carrier board, at least one memory quad and a rack or rackless option. The A9738B carrier has 16 slots (up to 64 GB) and the A9739B has 32 (up to 128 GB) at the same 12.8 GB/s; quads are A7128A (1 GB), A7129A (2 GB), A7130A (4 GB), A7131A (8 GB) and AB560A (16 GB), largest first.
Standard core I/O is a dual-port Gigabit LAN card and a dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI card, which can be upgraded to a Smart Array 6402, in the two reserved slots. That leaves six PCI-X slots: slots 7 and 8 each have a 133 MHz bus and a 1.0 GB/s channel, and slots 3 to 6 share two 66 MHz buses in pairs. A 33 MHz card drops its bus partner to 33 MHz, and hot plug works under HP-UX but not Linux.
The rp4410 supports HP-UX 11i v1, v2 and v3 and ships with one power supply, with a second available for redundancy. The two internal disks can run duplex with the A9740B kit, and racking is A6977A in the field or A6977AZ from the factory, with the A6979A frame for sites without a rack.
