N3K-C3172PQ-10GE is the chassis part number of the Cisco Nexus 3172PQ, a 10-Gbps SFP+ top-of-rack switch. Cisco describes it as a phy-less switch built for low latency and low power. It has 48 fixed SFP+ ports that each run at 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps, and 6 fixed QSFP+ ports that each run at native 40 Gbps or as 4 x 10 Gbps, for a total of 72 10 Gigabit Ethernet-capable ports.
System memory is 4 GB. Cisco gives typical operating power as 143 W and maximum power as 293 W, with typical heat dissipation of 488 BTU/hr and maximum of 1000 BTU/hr. The chassis measures 1.72 x 17.3 x 17 in (4.4 x 43.9 x 43.2 cm).
Power supplies are N2200-PAC-400W (AC, forward airflow) and N2200-PAC-400W-B (AC, reversed airflow), which take 100 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz, plus N2200-PDC-400W (DC) and N3K-PDC-350W-B (DC, reversed airflow), which take -40 to -72 VDC. Cisco offers four 3172PQ bundles with Base and LAN Enterprise licences: N3K-C3172-FA-L3 (forward airflow, AC), N3K-C3172-BA-L3 (reversed airflow, AC), N3K-C3172-FD-L3 (forward airflow, DC) and N3K-C3172-BD-L3 (reversed airflow, DC).
The N3K-C3172PQ-XL is a separate XL model. Other Nexus 3000 switches are listed in Cisco switches, including the Nexus 3064-X.
