ST300MP0006 is the 300GB standard 512N model of the Seagate Exos 15E900 SAS family, a 2.5-inch drive that spins at 15K RPM with a 2.0 ms average rotational latency. A 256MB data buffer supports the SAS interface, which auto-negotiates 3.0, 6.0 and 12.0 Gb.
Two read/write heads serve the 300GB capacity. Sustained transfer for 512N models runs from 205 to 300 MB/s, and each SAS port moves up to 1,200 MB/s (2,400 MB/s across both ports). The drive weighs 0.474 lb (0.215 kg).
A 128-deep task set, support for up to 32 initiators, Power Balance, Power Save, SAS Power Disable, a dynamic spindle brake, Idle Read After Write and a 3.2MB NVC-backed write cache on 512N models are built in, with ECC burst correction of 520 bits for 512-byte blocks.
The annualized failure rate is 0.44% with an MTBF of 2,000,000 hours.
