Option 4XB7A80325 (feature code BNWG) is the number that spare 03GX674 corresponds to. It is the 1.92 TB 3.5-inch version of the Samsung PM1653 Read Intensive SAS drive and sits in a hot-swap tray. Samsung's sixth-generation 128-layer V-NAND TLC flash stores the data, and the host link is 24 Gbps SAS. Samsung model code MZILG1T9HCJR-V7 applies.
Self-encryption follows the TCG Enterprise standard. The rated endurance is 1 DWPD for 5 years, equal to 3,504 TB written, with a data reliability figure below 1 in 10^17 bits read and an MTBF of 2,000,000 hours. Electrical draw averages 11.5 W on reads and 14.7 W on writes. Out of service, the drive tolerates a 1,500 G shock lasting 0.5 ms and 20 GRMS of vibration between 20 and 2000 Hz.
On a 24 Gbps link, 4 KB random work reaches 420,000 read IOPS and 95,000 write IOPS; 128 KB sequential speeds are 2100 MB/s reading and 2000 MB/s writing; random latency is 120 µs read and 45 µs write. Run at 12 Gbps, the same drive records 240,000 read IOPS, 80,000 write IOPS and 1100 MB/s in both directions. The drive, backplane and SAS controller must each support 24 Gbps for that speed.
The firmware handles 16 initiators and tagged command queuing to a depth of 128 commands, follows SAS-3, SPL-3, SBC-4, SPC-4 and SAM-5, and includes S.M.A.R.T., end-to-end data protection and a power-loss protection design from Samsung. Other 3.5-inch PM1653 hot-swap options: 4XB7A80324 (960GB), 4XB7A80326 (3.84TB), 4XB7A80327 (7.68TB) and 4XB7A80328 (15.36TB).
