Lenovo part 00W1301 is the 512GB SATA 3.5" MLC HS Enterprise Value SSD, feature code A3G2. It holds 512GB in a 3.5-inch form factor and ships on a 3.5-inch hot-swap tray.
Lenovo describes these drives as a single-chip SATA controller in front of several channels of Micron NAND, 25 nm MLC, packaged in an HDD replacement enclosure. Interface is 6 Gbps SATA; features include enterprise data path protection, NCQ and SMART, and power use is 2.5 to 3.5 W per drive.
Specifications for the 512GB 3.5-inch drive: 350 TB total bytes written, 50,000 random read IOPS and 7,500 random write IOPS on 4 KB blocks, 350 MBps and 140 MBps sequential read and write on 128 KB blocks.
These are read-intensive drives: the guide recommends planning so that the TBW rating is not exceeded before the required service life, and names web serving, content delivery and streaming video as fits. Lenovo withdrew the line from marketing on June 30, 2014.
Server support in the Lenovo guide: the System x3630 M4 (7158), with both the original and E5-2400 v2 processors.
Fit check: 00W1301 needs a 3.5-inch hot-swap bay in a listed server; check feature code A3G2 on configuration records. Neighbouring options are 00W1296 and 00W1286.
