Part 39Y6066 is the NetXtreme II 1000 Express Ethernet adapter that IBM sold for System x, feature code 1485 in Lenovo's Broadcom adapter guide, where it appears as the Broadcom NetXtreme 1xGbE BaseT Adapter.
IBM's support overview describes it as the first PCI Express x4 single-port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet adapter for System x. It is built on the Broadcom 5708C MAC/PHY controller and has one RJ45 copper port for Category 5E or 6 cabling.
The card is a standard half-length PCI Express card that fits both full-height (3U) and low-profile (2U) slots. IBM lists jumbo frame support, large send offload and Broadcom's TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE), which moves TCP processing from the host CPU onto the adapter.
Neither IBM's overview nor the Lenovo guide gives a server support list for 39Y6066, so we do not repeat the long compatibility list that was on this page.
Fit check: confirm the server has a free PCIe x4 or wider slot and that your operating system has a Broadcom NetXtreme II driver. If you need two ports, 42C1780 is the dual-port NetXtreme II 1000 Express adapter, and 90Y9370 is the later BCM5720 dual-port card.
