816909-B21 is the HPE 960GB 6G SATA Read Intensive-3 SFF 2.5-in SC SSD; the current catalogue name adds 5300P. Spare 817080-001 is described in PartSurfer as a 960GB hot-plug SSD, SATA, Read Intensive-3 (RI), 6Gb/sec, 2.5-inch SFF, SmartDrive Carrier (SC), with power loss protection, for use with Gen8 servers and beyond.
HPE's SSD QuickSpecs added it in version 32 (28 September 2015) and rate the Read Intensive-3 960GB at 1403TB of lifetime writes, or 0.8 drive writes per day for five years. It is listed by name in the DL380p Gen8 and BL460c Gen9 QuickSpecs, and the spare appears in 63 where-used entries including DL120 Gen9 and DL180 Gen9 CTO servers.
Remaining drive life can be read through HPE SmartSSD Wear Gauge, which needs Smart Array firmware 5.0 or later and a controller on HPE's list. HPE's parts record flags PLP support, matching the QuickSpecs note that Enterprise SSDs support power loss protection.
Fit check: see the ProLiant DL380p Gen8 hub. 816913-B21 is the same drive in a 3.5-inch SCC tray, and 789155-B21 is the earlier RI SFF SC drive it replaced.
