"The HPE option 875478-B21 covers one 1.92TB solid-state drive, 6Gb/s SATA, Mixed Use, 2.5-inch SFF on a Smart Carrier, catalogued in PartSurfer as the HPE 1.92TB SATA 6G Mixed Use SFF SC SM883 SSD. Service replacement uses spare 875867-001, whose PartSurfer entry describes a 1.92TB SATA drive with a Smart Carrier and digitally signed firmware.
It heads the 8754xx SATA Mixed Use group in the BL460c Gen9 QuickSpecs, above 875474-B21 (960GB), 875470-B21 (480GB) and 875483-B21 (240GB). The same QuickSpecs also carries 877788-B21 as a 1.92TB SATA Mixed Use drive, and PartSurfer uses the SM883 name for 872352-B21 as well.
HPE's SSD QuickSpecs ties every workload category to a DWPD figure, meaning the number of full-capacity 4K random writes per day the drive can take for five years. To read wear data, HPE points to SmartSSD Wear Gauge, which requires Smart Array firmware version 5.0 or greater plus HPE ACU or ADU.
Fit check: look for 875478-B21 or 875867-001 on the drive label and use a server whose QuickSpecs lists this option for its SFF SATA bays. Close relatives in the same HPE list are 875474-B21 (960GB) and 872352-B21."
