877746-B21 is an HPE 480GB SATA solid-state drive in the Read Intensive class for hot-plug 2.5-inch (SFF) bays, in a Smart Carrier. PartSurfer lists one spare under it, 878846-001, described as a 480GB SSD with SATA interface, 6Gb/s transfer rate, 2.5-inch small form factor, read intensive (RI), digitally signed firmware and smart carrier (SC). The option name carries the drive model code PM883.
HPE's SSD QuickSpecs list 877746-B21 at 900 TB lifetime writes and 1.0 DWPD, with maximum sequential read and write of 500 and 330 MiB/s and TLC flash. The same QuickSpecs give 60,000 / 20,000 random read/write IOPS (4KiB, Q=16), maximum random read of 64,000 IOPS at Q32 and maximum random write of 20,000 IOPS at Q4, and power of 1.25 W at idle and 4.00 W maximum.
PartSurfer lists spare 878846-001 as used in DL385 Gen10 Mod-X, ML350 Gen10, the DL380 Gen10 all-flash node, the Apollo 4200 Qumulo node and the StoreOnce 5500 60TB system. HPE puts Read Intensive on the read-driven side of its workload split: boot, web serving, social media and read caching.
