ST600MP0005 is the Seagate model number behind Dell part number V5300, the standard 512 native 600GB drive of the Enterprise Performance 15K v5 SAS family. Its relatives in the same capacity are the self-encrypting ST600MP0015, the FIPS 140-2 ST600MP0025, the 512 emulation ST600MP0035 and the 4096 native ST600MP0065.
Six heads read 15,000 rpm media with 2.0 ms average rotational latency, and a 128MB buffer supplies about 60,000 KB of cache. On the SAS interface the maximum instantaneous rate is 1200 MB/s per port, or 2,400 MB/s over both ports, at 12.0Gb/s. Sustained transfer for 512 native models is 160 to 233 MiB/s. Logical blocks of 512 (default), 520, 524 or 528 bytes are available.
MTBF is 2,000,000 hours with a 0.44 percent annualized failure rate; interface errors stay below 1 in 10^12 bits transferred, and the 512 emulation and 4096 native models of the same 600GB capacity sustain 180 to 246 MiB/s.
