Dell's PowerVault MD34XX/38XX Series Support Matrix (Rev. A25, January 2020) lists 99NCV in Table 9, Supported physical disk drive models. The row gives a 2.5-inch form factor, the Western Digital model WD9002BKTG, 900 GB capacity and 10K speed, with Western Digital as vendor. Dell marks it as not self-encrypting and lists firmware D1P3.
The arrays covered by the matrix are the MD3400, MD3420, MD3800i, MD3820i, MD3800f, MD3820f, MD3460, MD3860i and MD3860f, and Dell states that only drives in Table 9 are supported. According to the matrix, MD34 and MD38 arrays can use 12 Gbps HDDs or SSDs but negotiate them to 6 Gbps. Asterisked 15K, 10K and 7.2K drives in Table 9 are excluded from the dense MD3460, MD3860i and MD3860f, and encrypted SSDs and 4Kn sector drives are not supported in the series.
Its 600 GB sibling in the same table is V1TX2 (WD6002BKTG), with the same vendor, SED status and firmware.
Fit check: confirm your array model appears in the matrix list, and on a dense MD3460 or MD3860 check whether this row carries the Table 9 asterisk, before ordering.
Want the 600GB version? V1TX2 shares this drive's vendor, SED status and firmware; 96G91 is another option in Dell PowerEdge Server Hard Drives (SAS, NL-SAS).
