K2R81A is the HPE MSA 2040 Energy Star SFF Chassis. HPE PartSurfer lists its chassis spare as 639410-001, described as a 2U24 6Gb MSA 2040 chassis that will accept one or two MSA 2040 SAN or SAS controllers and holds twenty-four 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF) drives.
The same PartSurfer parts list for K2R81A names the service items that go with the enclosure: the 717871-001 MSA 2040 ear kit, the 592263-001 ear kit chassis for 2U12 and 2U24 units, the 592266-001 command line interface cable with a USB interface, and the 768079-001 compact flash card. The power supply in that list is 592267-002, a 595-watt unit for AC powered MSA 2040 systems, and the rail kit entry is 457637-001.
Because PartSurfer describes the chassis as accepting either SAN or SAS controllers, the controller type is set by the modules installed, not by the chassis part. Before ordering, match the controller type and drive form factor of the MSA 2040 you are rebuilding to this 24-bay SFF chassis.
