The IBM 3584-S24 is a driveless, high-density storage expansion frame for the IBM TS3500 Tape Library, holding up to 1,000 3592-format cartridges (600 standard, 1,000 with capacity on demand).

The 3584-S24 is a driveless, storage-only expansion frame containing up to 1,000 3592 tape cartridges and can be attached to Model D22, D23, L22, and L23 with Enterprise or 3592 Tape Drives.The 3584-S24 adds capacity and density to your existing TS3500 Tape Library installation and is designed for large and unattended storage requirements for mid-tier to high-end systems.
