756627-B21 is a 120GB SATA solid state drive in the 2.5-inch small form factor with value endurance (VE) flash and power loss protection (PLP). PartSurfer maps the option to spare 757363-001, which it describes as a quick release carrier (QR) drive that supports select Gen9, Gen8 and Gen7 systems.
Two details separate this from the 120GB SmartDrive-carrier option. The carrier is quick release rather than SmartDrive, and the support statement reaches back to Gen7 while naming only select models. A server whose bays use SmartDrive-only trays will need the SmartDrive option instead.
Power loss protection is useful where the drive holds a boot image or a small log volume: cached writes are protected if power fails.
Before ordering, read the drive label on the unit you are replacing. Match the spare number, then match the tray style on the failed drive to the one on this part. HPE calls out select systems in its text, so list your server model against the drive support list for that model rather than relying on the generation name.
