877784-B21 is the HPE 960GB SATA 6G Mixed Use LFF SCC SM883 SSD, with spare 879017-001.
HPE's spare description reads "2.5in small form factor (SFF), mixed use (MU), digitally signed firmware, smart carrier convertor SFF to LFF (SCC)". Both parts are true at once: the drive itself is 2.5-inch, and the SCC converter makes the assembly fit a 3.5-inch LFF bay, which is why the option name says LFF.
The spare's where-used list includes DL385 Gen10 8SFF and 24SFF CTO servers (standard and TAA), the DL360 G10 8TB ROBO server for Cohesity, and an "MU SFF RW DS" drive entry.
Mixed Use sits above Read Intensive in HPE's line-up: more than 1 DWPD, below the 10 DWPD of Write Intensive drives. HPE's retention figure applies at end of life: 3 months with no power once maximum rated write endurance has occurred.
Fit check: 872350-B21 is the MU-3 LFF SCC drive used in DL360 and DL380 Gen10 builds, and P09718-B21 is a later MU LFF SCC option.
