HPE PartSurfer lists 880507-B21 under the description "HPE Server Solid State Drives", with a single drive component, 880804-001.
PartSurfer describes 880804-001 as an 800GB SATA solid-state drive in the 2.5-inch small form factor, 6G, Read Intensive (RI), on a Smart Carrier (SC), with Digitally Signed Firmware (DS).
HPE's SSD QuickSpecs define the Smart Carrier as the smart, hot-plug carrier for SFF bays.
The same document positions SATA SSDs as entry-level enterprise drives and says their cost per IOPS compares favourably with hard drives for read-intensive workloads.
Digitally signed firmware, in HPE's hard drive QuickSpecs wording, assures that drive firmware comes from a trusted source and protects against malicious attacks.
PartSurfer gives no where-used list for this option, so the server match comes from the carrier and interface: an SFF SC bay on a SATA-capable controller.
