GWFRY is the Dell part number for a 300GB 12Gb/s SAS 2.5 inch hard drive built on the Toshiba AL15SEB030NY. It belongs to the Toshiba AL15SEB enterprise performance family, which spins at 10,500 rpm and was engineered for mission critical servers, transaction workloads and hybrid storage platforms.
The AL15SEB030NY is a 512n drive, so it presents 512-byte logical sectors (512, 520, 524 or 528 B block lengths are supported) and the trailing Y marks the Sanitize Instant Erase option, which invalidates the data on the disks almost instantly. The interface is SAS-3.0 at up to 12.0 Gbit/s, with a 128 MiB buffer, 2.86 ms average latency and 222.5 MiB/s sustained transfer at the 300 GB capacity point. Toshiba Persistent Write Cache protects data in sudden power loss.
