HF06W is the Dell part number for a 2.5-inch SSD of 800GB, built by Samsung as model MZILS800HEHP0D3 and listed for Dell PowerVault MD-series arrays.
Dell's MD34XX/38XX matrix (Rev. A25) lists HF06W in its supported physical disk table with firmware DWL8, no self-encryption (SED: No) and Samsung as the vendor. Only physical disks with a Dell EMC part number in that table are supported.
The older MD32XX/36XX family matrix (Rev. A24, June 2020) includes HF06W in its supported disk list, Table 12, at firmware DWL7, and asks users to take later drive firmware from the MD3200/MD3600 downloads on Dell support.
Notes in the MD34/38 matrix: the arrays can use 12 Gbps drives but negotiate them to 6 Gbps, and self-encrypting SSDs and 4Kn sector drives are not supported. Both matrices state that online physical disk firmware upgrade is supported.
Fit check: match HF06W on the drive label to the array's matrix, and confirm a 2.5-inch slot. Related matrix entries with pages: MFC6G is the 400GB MZILS400HEGR0D3 and W5PP5 the 1.6TB MZILS1T6HEJH0D3.
