WHR0G is the Dell part number for a 1.8TB 12Gb/s SAS 2.5 inch 10,000 rpm hard drive built on the Seagate ST1800MM0078. Within the Enterprise Performance 10K v8 family it is the FIPS 140-2 self-encrypting model of the 1800GB 512-emulation range, which also includes the standard ST1800MM0018 and the self-encrypting ST1800MM0068.
Four disks and eight read/write heads sit behind a 128MB data buffer. Average rotational latency is 2.9 ms, and sustained transfer runs from 117 to 241 MB/s (112 to 230 MiB/s) across the platter. The dual-port SAS interface reaches 1200 MB/s per port, or 2400 MB/s with both ports in use. Sectors are 4096 bytes physical with 512 emulation, and the logical block can be set to 512 (the default), 520, 524 or 528 bytes.
Reliability is rated at 2,000,000 hours MTBF with a 0.44 percent annualized failure rate. Typical idle power at 12Gb/s is 4.55 W, and the 1800GB drive weighs 0.439 lb (0.199 kg).
