00Y7730 is Lenovo's Emulex Dual Port 10 GbE SFP+ Embedded VFA IIIr, feature code A4MC. It is an embedded VFA III adapter for System x M4 servers on a mezzanine card, 60 mm by 160 mm by 17 mm, and does not use a regular PCIe slot. Lenovo states that all adapters in the Emulex VFA family offer the same features and functions.
As shipped the card handles Ethernet; FCoE and iSCSI offload is added with Features on Demand license 90Y5178 (feature A2TE), the Emulex Mezz VFA III/IIIr FCoE/iSCSI License that Lenovo names for 90Y6456 and 00Y7730. With Virtual Fabric, up to eight virtual network ports (vNICs) can be created on a two-port 10 GbE adapter. Lenovo lists operating temperatures of 0 to 55 °C and humidity of 5 to 95% non-condensing.
Lenovo marks 00Y7730 as supported in the x3550 M4 (7914, E5-2600 v2), x3650 M4 (7915, E5-2600 v2), x3650 M4 HD (5460), dx360 M4 (E5-2600 v2) and nx360 M4 (5455). The QLogic embedded equivalent in the same servers is 90Y6454, and more System x network parts are in the IBM and Lenovo networking parts.
