49Y1405 is a 2GB low-voltage registered DIMM: single-rank x8 (1Rx8), 1.35V, PC3L-10600 CL9 ECC DDR3 at 1333 MHz, low profile. It carries feature code 8940 throughout the Lenovo Press guides.
Servers that list it are the System x3500 M4 (up to 24), System x3300 M4 and System x3530 M4 (up to 12 each), System x3200 M3 (up to six) and the Flex System x240 compute node. The x3300 M4 guide includes it in standard model A2x.
The x3500 M4 table for Xeon E5-2600 processors shows two cases. Run at 1.35V, it reaches 1333 MHz at one or two DIMMs per channel, with up to 16 installed; three per channel is not supported. Run at 1.5V, it holds 1333 MHz at one or two DIMMs per channel and 1066 MHz at three, with up to 24 installed.
That table's heading prints this part as 1 GB, while the option tables list it as 2GB.
Because it is x8-based, Chipkill does not apply. The x3530 M4 guide rules out mixing 1.5V and 1.35V DIMMs; the x3500 M4 and x3300 M4 allow it, with all DIMMs then at 1.5V. For 4GB low-voltage RDIMMs, compare the x4-based 49Y1406 and the dual-rank 49Y1407; more are on our IBM System x memory hub.
