The IBM System Networking SAN24B-5 (machine type 2498, models F24 and X24, also sold as 249824G) is the IBM-branded Brocade 6505: a 1U, 24-port 16Gb/s Fibre Channel switch with 12 ports active in the base and a 12-port Ports on Demand upgrade.
Where it fits: entry-level and edge SANs attaching IBM Power, System x and IBM storage as well as other open-systems servers, in Brocade-based fabrics. Tell us whether you need 12 or 24 active ports and we confirm the license level with your quote.
