Seagate Exos 7E2000 2TB 12Gb/s SAS 7200 RPM 2.5-Inch Hard Drive, ST2000NX0433

ST2000NX0433 is the 512 native standard model of the Seagate Exos 7E2000 SAS 2TB drive, a 2.5-inch (SFF) design that carries 2TB at 7200 RPM. The 1TB 512 native model in the same family is ST1000NX0453. Ten read/write heads work at 335 ktracks/in and 1998 Kb/in, an areal density of 640 Gb/in2.

Average rotational latency is 4.167 ms and the data buffer is 128MB, of which approximately 60,000KB acts as cache, with a 128-command task set. The dual-port SAS controller supports 3.0, 6.0 and 12.0 Gb/s at 1200 MB/s per port, or 2400 MB/s across both ports. Sustained transfer is 130 MiB/s (136 MB/s). Logical block size is 512 bytes by default, with 520, 524 and 528 selectable, and the drive handles up to 32 initiators, SAS expanders and fanout adapters.

Built-in features include Background Media Scan, Idle Read After Write, a dynamic spindle brake and a dedicated head load and unload zone. The annualized failure rate is 0.44% with a 2,000,000 hour MTBF, and the maximum workload is under 550TB per year. The 2TB model weighs 0.437 lb (198 g).
