WS-C3850-24P-S is the 24-port PoE+ Catalyst 3850 with the IP Base feature set. Cisco lists it with 24 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports and a PWR-C1-715WAC power supply in 1 RU, giving 435W of available PoE.
The 24-port models take fewer uplink modules than the 48-port ones. In Cisco's matrix the 24P supports only the C3850-NM-4-1G and C3850-NM-2-10G; the 4x10G and 8x10G modules are not listed for it. A buyer who needs four 10G uplinks needs a 48-port or multigigabit 3850 instead.
The switch joins a StackWise-480 stack of up to nine units and supports StackPower, with StackPower cables bought separately. It ships with three field-replaceable fans and one supply, with a second bay for redundancy.
End of sale was October 30, 2020 and last date of support October 31, 2025; Cisco's migration product is the C9300-24P-A.
Fit check: the label should read WS-C3850-24P-S; the -L version, WS-C3850-24P-L, carries LAN Base instead of IP Base. For uplinks, the C3850-NM-2-10G is the 10G module this model takes. The Cisco Catalyst 2960, 3850 and 9300 hub lists the other 3850 switches.
